In Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey, the movement of passenger transport will be restricted on weekends

According to the governor of East Kazakhstan Region Danial Akhmetov, this is a forced and extreme measure that had to be taken to get the region out of the" red " zone and prevent the aggressive spread of coronavirus infection

At the 7th session of the regional maslikhat, the head of the region, Danial Akhmetov, said that the situation with the coronavirus in East Kazakhstan region, although controlled, remains difficult. The region is still in the " red " zone. In Semey, 41% of the total number of cases, in Ust-Kamenogorsk-34%. The incidence is also increasing in Ridder, Glubokoe and Ulansky districts.

In this regard, it was decided to strengthen control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and limit the movement of public transport on weekends.

"The work of all catering outlets will be under strict control. Business incentives do not give entrepreneurs the right to neglect restrictive and sanitary-epidemiological measures," D. Akhmetov stressed.

He also said that the region shows good results in terms of vaccination rates - more than 325 thousand people have already received both components of the vaccine. At the same time, 13 thousand people are vaccinated daily in East Kazakhstan Region.

"There are 39 infectious diseases hospitals operating in the region, and we are also ready to deploy another 8,100 beds. So far, we have the lowest level of workload of polyclinics in the country, but this does not mean that you can relax," the mayor added.
