Information message for the mass media of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Information and Public Development informs that by the decisions of the territorial election commissions of districts, cities of regional significance, the elections of 730 akims of cities of district significance, villages, settlements, rural districts of the Republic of Kazakhstan are scheduled for July 25 this year.

In accordance with the requirements of paragraph 3 of Article 28 of the Constitutional Law "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan", information on the amount of payment, conditions and procedure for providing air and print space must be announced and published by the relevant mass media no later than five days before the start of election campaigning (no later than July 9, 2021).

The mass media may not provide airtime, printed space for the placement and distribution of campaign materials of candidates before the publication of information on the amount of payment, conditions and procedure for providing air and printed space (violation of this norm entails a fine of 30 MCI for officials, 50 MCI for legal entities).

According to the elections of akims of cities of district significance, villages, settlements, rural districts, information on the amount of payment, conditions and procedure for providing air and printed space must be submitted to the territorial election commissions.

In accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 27 of the Constitutional Law "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan", pre-election campaigning begins from the end of the registration period for candidates and ends at zero o'clock local time on the day preceding the election day.

Thus, the election campaign will begin after 18: 00 local time on July 14, 2021 and will end at 00:00 local time on July 24, 2021.
