After the reconstruction of the runway, Urjara Airport will be able to receive medium-range aircraft, including from neighboring countries
This was stated by the head of the region Danial Akhmetov during a meeting on the development of tourism in the East Kazakhstan region.
The Governor stressed that East Kazakhstan Region is one of the leading regions in terms of the number of natural and cultural attractions, as well as places for active and recreational recreation. Therefore, the issue of tourism development in the region has always been one of the most important.
"The pearl of our region is Lake Alakol. Work has already been carried out here to clean the bottom, rescuers and policemen are on duty. This season, 163 hotels and recreation centers are operating on the unique lake, 94 of them are in the "ASHYQ" system. Of the 900 employees, 80% have already received a coronavirus vaccination. Just like last year, we want to make Alakol a COVID-19-free zone. I want to remind you that in 2020, no cases of infection were recorded on the coast," D. Akhmetov said.
He also said that since June 17, additional trains have been launched to Alakol from Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk, while the number of cars has increased to 61. The number of buses has also been doubled. As for the airport, after the reconstruction, the length of its runway will be more than two kilometers. Thus, the village of Urjar will be able to receive even large Embraer-type aircraft.
