Kazakhstan Adopts Law on Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Development

Kazakhstan has adopted a new law aimed at developing the telecommunications market and data centers.

The document was developed within the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence and supports the strategic goal of building a fully digital nation within the next three years.

The law covers key areas including improving communication quality, expanding access to digital services, developing data centers, protecting telecommunications infrastructure, and combating fraud in communication networks.

Under the law, citizens will receive free access to socially important digital services such as eGov, e-Otinish, and Aitu. Call labeling for legal entities will also be introduced to help protect citizens from phone fraud.

In addition, the law introduces measures to improve market transparency, accelerate telecommunications infrastructure development, and ensure the stable operation of the country’s digital ecosystem
