120 cases of imposition of paid services on entrepreneurs have been identified in East Kazakhstan region

In the Kurchumsky district of the East Kazakhstan region, 120 cases of forced provision of paid services to entrepreneurs related to the disinfection of livestock premises and vehicles have been recorded. This was reported by the head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption (Anti-Corruption Service) for the East Kazakhstan region, Denis Shakenov.

- As part of the "Business Zhol" project, anti-corruption monitoring was conducted in the field of providing veterinary services, which revealed a number of systemic problems faced by entrepreneurs. In the Kurchumsky district alone, 120 cases of forced provision of paid services to entrepreneurs related to the disinfection of livestock premises and vehicles have been recorded. Such services are mandatory only in areas of epizootic foci, - said Denis Shakenov.

In addition, 52 cases were identified when, when issuing veterinary certificates of form No. 1, entrepreneurs were faced with the imposition of additional services for the disinfection of vehicles. In some cases, these services might not have been provided at all: 155 cases were recorded when the register included paid services, but disinfection certificates were missing.

Such illegal actions significantly increased the cost of meat products, which ultimately affected businesses and consumers. According to Denis Shakenov, the practice of forced provision of services has been discontinued, and the guilty parties have been brought to disciplinary responsibility.

The Anti-Corruption Service sent a letter about the need to implement a monitoring system to prevent such violations in the future.
