The Samara region is strengthening its waste collection system in the tourist area

The national environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan" continues in the Samara district. This year, 120 new containers for solid household waste collection were installed. They appeared in public spaces, near apartment buildings, and in the tourist area on the shore of the Bukhtarma Reservoir.
Recreational camp owners, who contract with the district's municipal utility for waste collection, were among the first to appreciate the benefits of the new system.
"After installing the containers, the camp's territory has become much more convenient. Thank you to the district administration for this service. Previously, we had to remove the waste ourselves, which required additional time and equipment. Now we pay 11,000 tenge per month, and a garbage truck comes eight times a month and removes all the waste. It's very convenient," said Ratkhu Mukhametzhanov, owner of the tourist camp.
In the Mirolyubovsky rural district, five containers have now been installed along the road and another five in the village itself. However, with the start of the tourist season, they proved insufficient. "This year, we've seen a significant increase in the number of vacationers, so we decided to install five more containers along the road. In just three days, tourists left behind approximately 20 quintals of trash. We're pleased that interest in our recreation areas is growing, but we urge visitors and local residents to respect nature, keep the coastline clean, and only dispose of trash in designated areas," noted Kanat Metkenev, Akim of the Mirolyubovsky Rural District.
To ensure timely waste removal, last year, with the support of Nurymbet Saktaganov, Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region, the Samara District purchased a modern, specialized garbage truck. During the tourist season, the vehicle serves the shores of the Bukhtarma Reservoir twice a week, ensuring regular removal of accumulated waste. All collected waste is transported to a designated location. The district is currently considering purchasing additional containers and constructing a solid waste landfill, which will allow for the creation of a modern solid waste management system. Since the launch of the "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign, approximately 250 tons of waste have already been collected and removed in the Samara district. Landscaping and cleanup efforts continue.
