The letters and messages are sent to email addresses and instant messaging apps and contain driver information, vehicle license plates, and a link to "pay the fine."
In reality, this is a phishing attack. Entering your bank card details
gives you full access to your account, potentially stealing all
your funds. In some cases, the link contains a virus that steals
personal data from your device.
To date, attacks have already been recorded in Russia and the United States,
so there is a risk that a similar scheme could spread to Kazakhstan.
We remind you that official notifications of administrative fines are sent only from the short number 1414 and do not
contain payment links. Information about imposed fines is also
transmitted through egov.kz and in bank mobile apps.
If you receive a fine message from 1414 containing a payment link, do not click it! It's a scam! Such messages
are sent by scammers!
We recommend:
- Do not click links or open attachments from suspicious emails;
- Double-check fine information only on official resources
egov.kz, qamqor.gov.kz, and in bank mobile apps. If you've already clicked the link and entered your information:
- Block your bank card immediately;
- Report the possible fraud to the bank and the police by dialing 102;
- Check your device for viruses.
Remain vigilant. Warn your loved ones. Don't give scammers a chance!
