RCSHU "Zher-2024" continues in East Kazakhstan

The second stage of the Republican Command and Staff exercises "Zher-2024" has begun today. The practical actions of emergency rescue units in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake have been continued.

          Rescuers are helping the people who remained under the rubble. Climbing equipment, canine calculations, hydraulic tools and an expanded "Cube of Life" are used. The injured are met by doctors of the Disaster Medicine Center and provide emergency assistance.

          Actions have been worked out at a chemically hazardous facility in conditions of a spill of a highly active toxic substance.  

           In accordance with the Plan of interaction in the areas of the region where significant destruction occurred, units of the National Guard, military units of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, forces and means of rescuers from the regions of Abai, Zhetisu, Karaganda region, who carry out rescue and restoration work in the affected settlements, arrived to help.

          During the exercises in earthquake-free regions, issues of receiving the affected population are being worked out at the same time.

            The expanded operational headquarters held a hearing of reports from the heads of operational groups, ministries, the leadership of regional akimats and involved departments on the situation in the conditions of a devastating earthquake.

            According to the results of the RCSHU, a full analysis of the exercise was carried out, an assessment of the readiness of emergency rescue units was given, priority areas for further improvement of the activities of the state civil protection system were identified.
