Rescuers of the Emergency situations of East Kazakhstan region ask fishermen to take safety measures seriously

Fluctuations in air temperature lead to the fact that ice does not have a safe thickness everywhere. In addition, some fishing enthusiasts prefer to get by car directly across the ice of the reservoir to the place of biting, neglecting basic safety measures and endangering their own lives and the lives of their passengers.

Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Department of East Kazakhstan Region have stepped up the prevention of safety measures in winter reservoirs: more than 460 raid events, 164 briefings, 19 gatherings were held, during which the rules of being on ice were explained to fishermen and memos were handed over.

For violation of Article 412 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses", 1 fisherman was brought to administrative responsibility.

During the raids, the staff of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region remind that in no case should you go fishing alone, so that at any moment comrades can come to each other's aid.

"We ask citizens to strictly observe safety measures on the ice. According to the "Rules of safety in reservoirs", when going out on ice with a thickness of less than 25 centimeters, it is necessary to carry a whistle, a life jacket, life pins, a rope with a diameter of at least 11 mm and a length of at least 12 meters, a stick with a length of at least 2 meters, a mobile phone in a waterproof bag," said the deputy head of the Emergency Department East Kazakhstan Region, Kuatbek Kenzhebekuly.

Rescuers also recommend that parents have additional conversations with their children. Explain that winter ponds are not a place for children's games.

The Emergency Department of the East Kazakhstan Region calls on those who saw a man fall through the ice to immediately report this by calling 112. Fishing, although an exciting activity, but do not forget about the rules of behavior on the ice, your life depends on it!

The safe ice thickness for passenger cars is at least 30 cm, for trucks at least 50 cm

In case of an emergency, call 112.
