ASTANA. KAZINFORM – At a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issue of providing voter lists to polling stations was considered, the correspondent of MIA "Kazinform" reports.
"Citizens exercise the constitutional right to elect the President of the country by voting on the basis of lists. Therefore, the issue of forming up-to-date and complete lists, as one of the important organizational elements of the electoral process, was considered at one of the recent meetings of the Central Election Commission. Two instructions were given to local executive bodies. The first is to widely inform citizens about the procedure for inclusion in the voter lists, based on written statements, including temporarily registered citizens. The second task is to maximize the functioning of information services, more precisely, call centers, digital services, Internet resources to verify inclusion in the voter lists and provide information to citizens about their inclusion in the voter list," said CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov.
According to him, the appropriate organization of voting on election day depends on the quality of compiling voter lists. Therefore, local executive bodies of all regions should report on this issue.
The first speaker was the deputy akim of the capital, Eset Bayken, who reported that 760,321 citizens were included in the voter lists, the updating of the lists is 100%. The lists for each polling station were signed by the Mayor of Astana, whose decision on October 30 was submitted to the precinct election commissions in paper form, to the territorial commission in electronic form.
After hearing reports from representatives of all regions, the Central Election Commission took note of the information provided.
"Dear voters! You can check your inclusion in the list of voters at the place of registration through the website or the call center of the relevant akimat. From November 4, 2022, you will be given the opportunity to check the data about yourself in the voter list at your polling station," N. Abdirov said.
