Population is the number of people living in a given area at a given time. Current estimates at the beginning of the year are calculated on the basis of the results of the last population census, to which the number of births and arrivals for permanent residence in a given territory is added annually and subtracted from the number of deaths and those who left for permanent residence from this territory.
