The city of Ridder is one of the large industrial regions of the East Kazakhstan region. As of December 1, 2023, the population of the Ridder region was 51557 people, of which 49722 people live in the city, 1835 people live in the village. By the beginning of 2023 (52 066 people), the number decreased by 509people or 1,0% as a result of natural population decline (-343 people) and a negative migration balance (-166 people). As of January 1 2024, 620 economic entities (enterprises, organizations and institutions of all forms of ownership) were registered in the statistical register for the city of Ridder. Of the total number of business entities - 597(96,3%) are small, 21 (3,4%) are medium, 2 (0,3%) are large. By type of ownership from the general list: 69 are state-owned, 521 are private, 30 are foreign.
