Household fire safety measures

A person is used to seeing the danger of a fire from open sources of fire: a fire, an unextinguished cigarette butt, and so on, but he still does not attach importance to the fact that he is surrounded by so many dangerous electrical appliances - possible sources of ignition. It is not surprising that some of the fires occur due to forgetfulness and carelessness.
Statistics show that the largest number of fires occurs in the residential sector and the residents themselves are the culprits of this misfortune.
A fire can occur from an unplugged radio, TV, tape recorder, electric iron, electric fireplace.

In order to ensure fire safety of residential buildings, apartments, outbuildings, individual garages and other residential areas, it is necessary to remember:
- electrical equipment and electrical appliances in the house must be kept in good condition;
- electric hotplates and other heating devices must only be used on a fire-resistant base, i.e. be installed on a ceramic, metal or asbestos-cement base;
- do not allow the installation of heating devices close to easily flammable objects or place them directly on wooden tables, stands;

- when using electric heating devices, it is unacceptable to leave them unattended or to entrust the supervision of them to children;
- when leaving the room or at night, the heating devices must be turned off.
A device that is not switched off and left unattended may cause a fire in the room.
