Over 55 Couples in the East Kazakhstan Region Married on a "Mirror" Date

Today, February 25, 2025, is a "mirror" date—25.02.2025—which holds special meaning for some people. It has long been noticed that many couples prefer to marry on such "beautiful" dates. As a result, the number of registrations today significantly exceeded the average for regular days.

Since early morning, newlyweds have been arriving at the registry offices in the East Kazakhstan region to form families and receive their marriage certificates.

"Mirror dates are always popular among newlyweds. For example, today, in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, 48 couples have already registered their marriages, and in the districts, another 22 couples have done so. Registrations are still ongoing. We want to wish all of them a happy family life, much love, and may this date remain special for them throughout their lives," says Aliya Kushkinbaeva, head of the registry office branch of the Government Corporation "Government for Citizens" in the East Kazakhstan region.

It is worth noting that on regular days, the registry offices in the East Kazakhstan region typically register between 5 and 10 marriages. In recent years, the number of newly registered couples in the region has been steadily increasing. In 2022, 4,578 couples tied the knot, in 2023—4,682, and in 2024, this number grew to 4,884.

Registry office specialists also point out that the approach to starting a family has become more conscious: while 4–5 years ago, the average age of newlyweds was 22–23 years, today it has increased to 26–28 years.
