The first Kazakh pilot deserves honor

Akim of the Kurchum district A. Akyshov held a meeting with elders and leaders of public organizations in the region. During the meeting, those present expressed gratitude for the activities carried out in the area, such as road repairs, lighting, and resolution of the flood situation. There was also a proposal to award the first Kazakh pilot Zhakypbek Maldybayev the title “Halyk kaharmany”.

Zh. Maldybaev was born in 1907 in the East Kazakhstan region. In 1929 he volunteered for the Red Army and was an assistant platoon commander. He studied at the pilot-observer school. He participated in the war in Spain, died in 1938.

The duty of generations is to remember the feat of heroes. Therefore, the first Kazakh pilot Zhakypbek Maldybaev deserves such an award, the elders believe.

Today, a school and a street are named after the pilot.
