All conditions are created for a comfortable pastime, sports activities for children and their parents in the Kurchum district.

An indoor swimming pool with five separate lanes for swimmers was built as part of the “Auyl - El Besigi” program in the administrative center of the Kurchum district. It was put into operation exactly a year ago, more precisely, in May 2023.

In accordance with modern requirements, 20 people can swim in the pool at the same time. It provides all amenities, such as toilets, changing rooms and a gym.

If we recall the background, the construction of the facility was completed back in January 2021, but then it had to be reconstructed due to shortcomings made by the contractor company responsible for the construction.

“Specialists came from Astana to carry out the inspection,” says district akim Almat Akyshov. – The necessary funds were allocated, and in 1.5-2 months we completed the repairs. Since then, the pool has been in operation for almost a year. For schoolchildren, access to the pool is free, but for other adult residents of the village a certain fee is charged.

According to the district akim, about 8 thousand people now live in Kurchum, of which about 3,500 are young people. To develop mass sports, it is planned in the future to build a physical education and health complex in the regional center.

“There are 2 trainers working in the pool,” noted the director of the sports facility, Ernaz Syrymbaev. – 66 students study in special sections. After them, the pool provides services to rural residents from 19.00 to 21.00. This facility gives young people the opportunity to engage in mass sports and effectively organize leisure time for the younger generation. Now our students take part in regional competitions. We are working to achieve better results.

Work on the construction of football fields and a street workout area also continues in the village. According to the akimat of the Kurchum district, in 2023, five football fields and four playgrounds were built in the district.

In 2024, it is planned to build 3 “Street Workout” sites and 4 football fields in the villages of Kurchum, Kuigan, Saryolen and Mulkovoe.
