Preventing Hay Fires

The Emergency Situations Department of the Kurchum region reminds you to comply with fire safety measures during haymaking.

Residents of the area, heads of peasant farms, owners and tenants of land plots, in order to prevent fires, must take the following precautions:

     do not allow the operation of automotive and tractor equipment that is not equipped with spark arresting devices, with leaks of fuel and lubricants in the fuel and hydraulic systems, and not equipped with fire extinguishing equipment;

     do not leave unextinguished fires, cigarette butts and matches;

     fully carry out the harvesting of roughage on owned and leased haylands.

1. Storage of roughage on estate plots of residential buildings is carried out at a distance of at least 15 meters from outbuildings
2. If it is impossible to store roughage at the specified distance, provided that an additional water container of less than 500 liters is provided, the distances will be reduced to 5 meters
3. It is not allowed to store roughage on rooftops, outbuildings, or power transmission lines.
