Fire hazard season

Fire hazard season

The main culprit of forest and steppe fires is a man - his negligence when using fire during work and rest. Most fires occur in places of picnics, picking mushrooms and berries, during hunting, from an abandoned burning match, an unquenched cigarette. During the hunter's shot, the wad that flew out of the gun begins to smolder, setting fire to dry grass. You can often see how littered places of rest are with bottles and glass fragments. These fragments focus the sun's rays like incendiary lenses in sunny weather. An incompletely extinguished bonfire causes subsequent major disasters in the forest and steppe. The statistics of natural fires of recent years show that their surge is observed on weekends, when people are massively heading to relax in nature. Ground fires most often occur in forests and steppes, burning out forest litter, undergrowth, grass and shrub cover, felling, tree rhizomes, etc. Mounted fires are dangerous when the wind is in a dry period, during which the fire also spreads over the crowns of trees, mainly conifers. The speed of the ground fire is from 0.1 to 3 m / min, of the top fire is up to 100 m / min in the direction of the wind. Over burning trees and shrubs, the formation of “columnar swirls” of hot ash and burning grass is possible, which, when the wind is strong, travels long distances and causes new tans.  It is necessary to be more attentive to compliance with fire safety requirements.

Every year there is a large number of natural fires in our republic associated with the burning of the steppe, twice as many cases of burning grass in the settlements.

Livestock farms, outbuildings, haystacks and other objects are destroyed as a result of these fires, and even people die. The state, and therefore our entire society, is losing significant financial resources and human resources to combat natural fires.

To avoid the occurrence of natural fires and to prevent the destruction of material values, adhere to the following basic rules:

- bonfire, burning of waste and garbage should be carried out at a distance of no closer than 50 m to buildings and structures in specially designated places for these purposes and under the control of citizens;

- do not burn garbage in windy weather, make sure that the fire is extinguished after burning;

- the territories of settlements and organizations within fire distances between buildings, structures and open warehouses, as well as areas adjacent to residential buildings, summer cottages and other buildings, must be promptly cleaned of combustible waste, garbage, fallen leaves, dry grass, etc.

- The territory of children's recreation camps located in forests, forest-steppe strips and steppes should be provided with a protective mineralized strip with a width of at least 3 meters.

- Conduct conversations with children about the need for safe behavior when handling fire;

- Carefully extinguish cigarette butts and matches.

- Drivers of vehicles, when driving on the roads of the region while smoking on vehicles, follow the fire safety rules.

Persons guilty of violation of fire safety rules, depending on the nature of violations and their consequences, bear disciplinary, administrative or criminal liability.
