Swimming season

Swimming season

The time for vacations and summer school holidays is ending; the weather is turning into autumn. There are fewer and fewer vacationers in nature. But despite this, people are dying on the republic’s water bodies. So on August 21, in the Turkestan region on the Syrdarya River, 11 people, including 5 children, drowned while on vacation.

The emergency department of the Kurchum district, together with the local police service, conducts daily preventive raids on swimming areas in the area’s reservoirs, handing out reminders to vacationers, and conducting instructions on water safety measures and providing first aid to victims. But the safety of vacationers primarily depends on themselves:

- do not swim in prohibited places;

- do not swim while intoxicated;

- do not leave children unattended;

- while swimming, do not use tubes, balls, boards, inflatable mattresses and do not allow games in the water;

- do not swim towards passing boats;

- do not jump into the water from bridges, ponds, piers, boats, boats and catamarans; do not dive into unfamiliar places;

- do not use boats that are ownerless or have technical faults;

- do not swim in the water alone at night.
