Preparing for spring floods is an important task!

One of the most common natural phenomena is floods caused by intense melting of snow (ice) or heavy rainfall, which is exactly what is characteristic of our region.

You need to carefully monitor the messages of the hydro meteorological service, and the information of the relevant emergency agencies transmitted through the media during the threatened period.

If your house falls within the boundaries of possible flooding, you must follow these rules:

- you should beforehand clear street, courtyards, roofs, socles of buildings, walkways (driveways), entrances and exits, water pipes, storm drains;

- you need to prepare a supply of the necessary amount of drinking water and food for three days, prepare appropriate clothing and shoes, a medical kit, first-aid items, in case of emergency evacuation;

- keep in constant readiness documents, money, securities and things;

- You need to carry out work to protect your home, apartment in advance: strengthening doors and windows, carrying household items and valuables to the upper floors (attic, roof), cleaning agricultural equipment from the yard, and keep livestock feed in a safe place.

- specify a safe place and route for evacuation. Prepare the necessary simple watercraft;

-  You need in advance to carry out the evacuation of pets, property in a safe place.

What you need to do in case of a sudden volley ejection, a sharp rise in water level and an abundant wave flow:

-Do not give in to panic, act quickly and purposefully;

-Close the windows and doors, shut off the water, gas, electricity, extinguish the fire in the oven;

-Take all measures to ensure the safety of pets, open doors, gates, tie them up;

-Wear appropriate rubber clothes, take documents, money, securities, a supply of drinking water, food, a medical kit, basic necessities and leave the building promptly;

-Try to leave the flooding area as soon as possible, if it failed, then use hand-held craft, move to a safe place, or move to the upper floors of the building or roof of the house;

-Do not eat flooded products, drink only boiled water;

Never allow children to water bodies without supervision, especially during ice drift, warn them about the danger of being on the ice when opening water bodies, being on steep and washed banks - they may collapse.
