The legalization of foreign cars will begin on January 23 in Kazakhstan, imported into the country before September 1, 2022.

How to go through the procedure of legalization of foreign cars quickly and accurately we will tell now in the instructions:

     First of all, you need to apply for data verification through eGov.kz. Note that car owners who do not have access to a personal computer can apply in the self-service sector at any public service center in the country. Work is underway to receive the service in the applications of second-tier banks (Kaspi, HomeBank). Vehicle registration data must be filled in without errors.

     The application will be considered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After you have submitted an application and you have been refused, you should not go to the Special PSC, to clarify the reasons, you need to contact the state agency. If approved, the system will offer you to book a visit to the Special PSC for vehicle inspection. To do this, on the status page, click "Book a queue", select the Special Center where you will go to inspect the car, indicate the date and time. Visitors will not be served without a queue reservation.

     It is necessary to arrive at the inspection point at the Special Public Service Center 20 minutes before the appointed time by car, which is subject to legalization. At the entrance, you can get a ticket at the inspection point itself or through the PSC mobile application.

      You can go to the building of the Special Public Service Center after successfully passing the reconciliation for car registration. The operator will ask you to hand over the original document confirming the ownership of the car, a foreign technical passport.

     After that, it is necessary to pay a fee for initial registration in the amount of 200,000 tenge, a state duty for a technical passport - 4,313 tenge, for a state number - 9,660 tenge. Payment can be made on the spot via QR.

     After payment, on the same day you will be issued a technical passport and license plates of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Note that the legalization of foreign cars is a one-time action. The approved legalization rules will be valid until July 1, 2023 and apply to cars, small and medium buses (with a gross weight of up to 5 tons) and small trucks (with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons), including those with right-hand drive governing bodies. There will be no requirements for age and environmental class for foreign cars subject to initial registration.
