The stove should heat, not burn

The stove should heat, not burn

On the calendar - October, the beginning of the heating season. And outside the window, frost, and other weather disasters. In the autumn-winter period, when the weather is so cold outside, you want warmth and comfort. And if this circumstance almost does not concern those living in comfortable apartments, then for owners of private houses, heating their homes is the main winter task.

A picture is immediately drawn before my eyes: a warm cozy house, a stove full of heat, on which it is so pleasant to lie down. But not everyone can afford to carelessly warm themselves on the stove.

As soon as the frost on the street gets stronger, rescuers immediately record an increase in the number of so-called "furnace" fires. Indeed, in order to warm up without problems in winter, the stove must, first of all, be properly built. On the floor in front of the firebox there must be an undamaged pre-furnace sheet measuring at least 50x70 cm made of non-combustible material.

Approaches to the stove from the side of the furnace door must be free. Furniture should be at a distance of at least 70 cm from the stove, and at least 125 cm from the furnace openings.

As for compliance with fire safety rules during the operation of furnaces, it must be remembered here that it is not allowed:

- To heat stoves with cracks and faulty doors.

- melt stoves with flammable liquids (gasoline, kerosene, solvents, etc.).

- leave heating stoves unsupervised or instruct young children to look after the stove;

- To produce a fire chamber of furnaces with open doors. With the doors open, a burning ember that has fallen on the floor can lead to a fire;

- Dry on ovens and put clothes or other flammable and combustible objects near their walls;

It is necessary to constantly monitor the technical condition of any heating device. The surfaces of furnaces and chimneys must be systematically cleaned of dust and other combustible deposits. Slag and ash must be removed to a specially designated safe place and filled with water.

To avoid the formation of cracks in the masonry, clean the chimney from soot accumulating in it at least once every three months, periodically check the chimneys for draft in them. Agree, repairing the oven, checking the health of electrical appliances is not difficult at all.

Note! According to statistics, every third fire occurs due to improper design and malfunction of the heating stove and chimney.
