KAZTELERADIO: No matter what mountains we face, RTS will be built there!

The implementation of the State Program "Digital Kazakhstan" is one of the priority tasks today. Within the framework of this program, a project is being actively implemented to switch to TsETV with the direct participation and support of JSC "Kazteleradio" - the national operator in the field of television and radio broadcasting.

The main task in this important matter is the construction of radio and television stations. At the moment, 543 out of 827 radio stations that were laid down in the project have been built. Of these, 68 digital radio and television stations have been launched this year: 13 in North Kazakhstan, 16 in Kyzylorda, 6 in East Kazakhstan, 5 in Aktobe , 4 - Akmola, 16 - Karaganda and 8 - Atyrau regions.

Only in December of this year, 5 RTS were launched in test mode in the Karaganda region, and 3 more are planned to be put into operation here by the end of the year. And in the city of Yereymentau, Akmola region, 1 radio and television station was launched.

Next year, it is planned to complete the construction of 87 RTS, as well as to start and complete the construction of 139 new stations. A complete shutdown of analogue television broadcasting in Almaty and the North Kazakhstan region is planned to be carried out in February 2021. Until December 1, 2021, the Karaganda region and the city of Nur-Sultan will completely switch to digital.

I must say that a radio and television station is a high tower, which can reach 100 meters, depending on its power. Building it is not easy. For safety reasons, it is forbidden to climb the antenna-mast structure in windy, stormy weather.

On average, the construction of one RTS takes several months, if the contractor has a certain number of employees and there are no problems with the delivery of equipment. However, in the context of the pandemic, construction was suspended and continued only in June.

There are other difficulties as well. For example, unscrupulous contractors win the tender, and then do not fulfill their obligations under the contracts. Often construction takes place in hard-to-reach places. So, in the East Kazakhstan region, 65 RTS should be built, which are planned for construction in a short period in mountainous areas. Natural conditions prevent this. But specialists of Kazteleradio assure: no matter what mountains they face, RTS will be built there!

In general, the project is moving forward in stages, and CETV is confidently marching around the country. The coverage of the population of the republic by digital broadcasting has already amounted to 90.96%, and by 2022 it is planned to cover more than 95% of the country's population.
