With the onset of warm dry weather, as the practice of past years shows, at this time the number of fires associated with the ignition of dry grass, garbage, in rural areas, in forests, on farmland, and in household plots, sharply increases.
A significant part of the fires is due to uncontrolled agricultural burning (burning last year's grass and straw), forests are burning and due to careless handling of fire. This is also due to the cleaning of garden plots (and, as a result, the burning of garbage and grass) and the mass departure of the population to nature (making fires, carelessness when smoking, etc.).
Monitoring the steppe terrain and forests in the region helps to predict the emerging fire hazard situation, which in the future allows you to take a number of measures aimed at protecting the population and the territory of the region from natural emergencies.
On weekends, many residents spend time in nature near ponds and rivers, go fishing and on vacation. Often such leisure is accompanied by making fires, and this may well cause natural fires. The main causes of fires are careless handling of fire by the population and unauthorized annealing of dry grass.
In the Kurchum region, compared to last year, the number of steppe sunburns has increased. In 2020, for this period, there were 13 steppe fires, the area was 423 hectares. This year, 14 steppe fires were registered with an area of 132 hectares.
Dear citizens! In order to avoid the occurrence of forest-steppe fires, the EHS of the Kurchum region reminds you of the elementary actions that DO NOT do:
- throw burning matches, cigarette butts, pipe ash in the forest. It is necessary to extinguish them carefully;
- leave materials impregnated with fuels and lubricants in the forest;
- leave glass objects and fragments on the ground surface. They must be buried or carried away with you;
- burn the grass in the spring;
- make fires in coniferous young forests, in cutting areas. If such a fire is still necessary, remove all flammable material within a radius of one meter from the fire, continuously monitor the embers and sparks falling out of the fire. The fire does not have to be strong;
- leave unextinguished fire. The fire pit must be carefully filled with water or covered with sand.
And remember! In the event of an emergency, you must call the numbers "101" and "112".
