East Kazakhstanis urged to report facts of corruption

Encouragement of persons who have reported the facts of corruption, otherwise assisting in this, is an effective mechanism for combating corruption. We pay great attention to this issue.
So, in 2020, according to the instructions of the Head of State, a system was established to encourage citizens about facts of corruption. A new differentiated system of rewarding citizens has been introduced. Previously, this was done depending on the category of crime. Currently, the person who reported this, depending on the amount of the bribe or damage, will have 10% of this amount, this applies if the amount of the bribe is more than 1 thousand MCI. For example, if the amount of damage or bribe is 50 million tenge, then the person who reported the fact of corruption will receive 5 million tenge after the court verdict.
In the first quarter of 2021, 40 citizens were paid incentives in the republic for a total amount of 6.4 million tenge.
The protection of persons who report the fact of corruption is carried out properly. According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption”, a person who reports such cases is not only encouraged with monetary funds, but is also protected by the state. Information about such a person is a state secret.
