An interactive lesson “People’s Teacher”

On May 5, 2025, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with Gulmira M. Azdarkhanova - a teacher of history, an expert teacher of Regional Specialized IT School Lyceum of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, conducted an interactive lesson on the topic “People’s Teacher”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.   

The goal of the lesson was to honor the memory of Kumash Nurgaliyev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a native of East Kazakhstan region and a people’s teacher of the USSR, on the occasion of his 100th anniversary; to learn about his life, military service and teaching career, as well as to foster patriotism, respect for work, responsibility and a sense of duty to the Homeland among students.

The event helped build up students’ respect for the history of their country, as well as for the heroism and dedication of ordinary people. The lesson was held in an atmosphere of patriotism and personal engagement, sparking interest in the personality of Kumash Nurgaliyev and his heritage. While preparing for the lesson, the school students interviewed a colleague and former student of Kumash Nurgaliev - Zh.S. Shakirova, a teacher of history of Regional Specialized IT School Lyceum. The lesson resulted in a live quiz on Kahoot, engaging all online participants in an interactive challenge.

All participants demonstrated active involvement, keen interest and a high level of preparation. Special mention should go to Oksana G. Khoreva, a teacher of history of Zevakino Basic Secondary School - Kindergarten Complex of Education Department of Shemonaikha district, for her own poem, dedicated to Kumash Nurgaliyev.

In all, more than one and a half thousand 9th graders from schools of the region participated in the event.
