April 23 - National Book Day

On April 23, 2025, all educational organizations of the region held the events themed “Shekarasyz kitapkhana: bugin birge okimyz” to mark the National Book Day. 

As part of this initiative, schools held a variety of engaging activities, including: a challenge “Reading is Always in Trend”, a photo exhibition “Me and My World”, and meetings with public figures in educational organizations. The event was attended by 55,402 schoolchildren of grades 1-11.

One of the highlights was a special meeting held at Secondary School No. 50 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, where students had the opportunity to meet with A.K. Kantarbayev, an outstanding writer, poet, journalist of East Kazakhstan region. This event was organized by Örken Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.

During the meeting, the students got to know the works of Poet, Writer A. K. Kantarbayev. During the meeting, which involved 250 students and 47 teachers, the participants had a dialogue about the importance of reading a book.
