Interregional Vocational Skills Competitions “Best electric and gas welder” and “Best auto repair mechanic” among students of colleges under the Committee of Criminal-Executive System

On February 21, 2025, Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held interregional vocational skills competitions “Best electric and gas welder” and “Best auto repair mechanic” among convicted college students, specializing in: “Welding Technology” with the qualification “Electric and gas welder”, and “Automobile technical support service and repair” with the qualification “Auto repair mechanic” studying at colleges under the Committee of Criminal-Executive System. The event took place as part of implementing the Action Plan for the Year of Skilled Trades in East Kazakhstan region.

Goal: to develop students’ labor activity, assess their level of professional preparation, foster technical thinking, and enhance their ability to plan and solve problems independently, applying their acquired knowledge and skills

An essential component of the competition was its role in rewarding, rehabilitating and preparing convicts for reintegration into society. By developing their qualified professional skills, former prisoners are better equipped to adapt to life after discharge from prison, find a job, and reduce the risk of repeated relapse into crime. It also boosts their self-confidence and strengthens their ability to make provision for the future.
