Spring is the time when nature wakes up and blossoms like an artist, painting the world with bright colors. The sun peeks through the clouds, breathing life back into the nature recently gripped by winter. But there is also a danger in this wonderful renewal – spring ice.
Spring ice can be extremely deceptive. It looks smooth and attractive, inviting you to step out on it and slide. But do not forget that there is a dangerous world beneath this shimmering surface. The strength of the ice is merely an illusion, easily vanished at any moment due to the whims of the weather. Warm days and cold nights make the ice thin and treacherous. And then, one wrong step, and the seemingly solid surface can betray us.
Every spring, we hear tragic stories of people getting into trouble because of their carelessness. Children playing on ice, adults forgetting to exercise caution– they can all fall victims to this spring deception. The ice, which seemed strong, suddenly cracks, plunging you into icy water, where every second becomes a fight for survival.
To prevent such tragedies, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with E. Tursyngaliyev, an officer of Emergency Situations Department of East Kazakhstan region, conducted a special webinar for schoolchildren. This webinar equipped children with crucial knowledge on how to stay safe on the spring ice to avoid danger.
Let’s be wise and cautious, like old trees that know when to shelter from the wind and storms. Let’s learn from nature, enjoying its beauty, while remaining vigilant. Spring ice can be dangerous, but it also reminds us that life is full of surprises, and we must always be prepared.
