Meeting of Regional Commission for Minors’ Affairs and Protection of Minors’ Rights

A meeting of the Regional Commission for Minors’ Affairs and Protection of Minors’ Rights was held on February 5, 2025. It was chaired by E.Zh. Nurgaliyev, Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan region. The meeting addressed the issues related to the protection of minors’ rights with a special focus on struggle against drugs, alcoholism, smoking and the distribution of synthetic drugs among minors.   

The participants also discussed measures to prevent offenses, including vandalism, and to support low-income families raising preschool and school-aged children.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Regional Commissioner for Children’s Rights, representatives of law enforcement agencies and local executive structures, as well as the chairs of the Commissions for Minors’ Affairs and Protection of Minors’ Rights of cities and districts.

The meeting resulted in issuing of the instructions aimed at improving the protection of minors’ rights, expanding preventive work and developing interdepartmental cooperation between government agencies in order to enhance the effectiveness of efforts in this area.
