Cyberbullying

In the vast ocean of information, where each of us can be both a creator and a consumer of content, there is a dark side — cyberbullying. This phenomenon, like a shadow, haunts users of social networks, forums and messengers, leaving behind traces of pain and fear.

Cyberbullying is a form of online aggression, taking many forms, from offensive comments and mockery, to threats and leakage of personal information. Unlike traditional bullying, which typically happens face-to-face, cyberbullying can be anonymous, making it even more dangerous. Victims may face constant harassment, unable to escape or hide from it.

There are different reasons for cyberbullying. It might be a desire for dominance, envy, or just boredom. Virtual anonymity sometimes encourages people to behave aggressively without thinking about the consequences of their actions.

The consequences of cyberbullying can be devastating. Victims often experience stress, anxiety, and depression. In some cases, it can lead to serious mental disorders or even tragedy. It is crucial to understand that behind every online username there is a real person with feelings and emotions.

Taking into account the social danger of this phenomenon, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with Arystanbek Nuray, a senior officer of cybercrime prevention administration of the Police Department of East Kazakhstan region, held an interactive webinar to educate students of the region on basic rules and methods for countering cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying is a serious problem that requires our attention and action. It is important to remember that each of us can contribute to creating a safer and more friendly online space. Let’s be attentive to our words and actions, because in a world where everyone can be heard, it’s vital to use our voice for good.
