Preventing drug addiction among minors

Antidrug efforts and struggle against drug trafficking in the Republic is one of the most pressing issue today, with drug distribution and drug addiction reaching alarming levels.                                                           

Every year, the Head of State emphasizes the importance of countering drug trafficking. The legal consequences for drug trafficking are becoming more severe, with new criminal offenses being added to the Criminal Code. It is worth noting that more and more young people and students are falling victim to drug dealers’ traps.  

Educational organizations play a key role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and combating drug addiction among young people. Lessons, discussions, workshops help children and teenagers understand the danger of drugs and learn to make the right decisions. Law enforcement agencies are also vital in this process, conducting raids, arresting drug dealers and suppressing illegal drug distribution.

Taking into account the urgency of the issue of drug addiction among minors, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with Police Major Sagatbek K. Maltugelov from Counterdrug Administration of Police Department of East Kazakhstan region, conducted an interactive lesson on preventing drug addiction and drug crime among minors. The lesson consisted of two parts. The first part covered the legal consequences of illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. In the second part, students watched fragments of anti-drug videos.
