Regional workshop on implementing Scaffold tools

On November 22, 2024, Vocational Education Center of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with the Regional Methodological Association of Methodologists held a regional workshop at Higher Polytechnic College of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, on implementing Scaffold tools as part of the annual plan of the Center, aimed at developing innovative education and training of teachers of technical and vocational, post-secondary education.

Goal: to explore and apply the Scaffold tools to create competence-oriented tasks.

The workshop was attended by deputy directors for academic affairs, methodologists and educators of colleges of East Kazakhstan region.   

During the workshop, T.N. Kravchenko, Head of Natural Sciences and Humanities Department of Kostanay Higher Pedagogical College, made a presentation on “Using Scaffold to integrate digital competencies into the curriculum content”, highlighting the relevance of Scaffold tools and the use of lesson planning cards, integrating digital, personal and entrepreneurial skills.

G.G. Sdykova, Deputy Director for study affairs of N. Bekbosynov Mangystau Energy College, presented the role of a set of Scaffold cards as a means of enhancing educators’ competence.

In the practical part of the workshop, Yu.V. Zubkova, Deputy Director for academic affairs of Ust-Kamenogorsk Construction College and E.S. Ekimova, Deputy Director for study affairs of Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College demonstrated the stages of integrating Scaffold cards in the educational process and the workshop participants developed lesson plans using Scaffold cards.
