Online workshop “Developing functional literacy of students through educational and digital technologies”

On October 22, 2024, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online workshop titled “Developing functional literacy of students through educational and digital technologies” in order to provide methodological support to target schools.

The workshop reviewed information about the work done to enhance students’ functional literacy, showcasing teachers’ skills, exploring new methods and strategies for applying new technologies in classrooms.  

During the workshop, the following speakers shared their experiences:

– Ainur K. Oshanova, a teacher of chemistry, teacher-expert of Zhetiaral School-Kindergarten Complex of Education Department of Tarbagatai district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

- Inna V. Zhilevskaya, a research teacher, a teacher of biology of School Lyceum No. 1 of Education Department of Ridder town of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.

In the reflective part of the workshop, the participants emphasized the practical significance and high motivational value of the materials presented by the speakers related to the development of functional literacy of students.

The event was attended by 44 teachers of biology and chemistry from regional secondary target schools. 

Moderators of the workshop: G.M. Abysheva - head of Methodological Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, a methodologist of the Department D. Kairbayeva.
