Summer break isn’t just about fun and rest; it’s also a good opportunity to expand your knowledge through immersive language experiences. The Host Family Project is increasing popularity in this direction. The main goal of the Project is to develop interest in learning languages among children and teenagers, and to boost their language skills.
On 15-30 June, 2024, Katon-Karagai and Glubokoe districts, as well as Ridder town implemented the Project engaging 120 children.
Learning took place in an informal and relaxed atmosphere both in host families and at schools. Schools provided the necessary equipment for classes: computers, projection screens. Such equipment made it possible to create a language-rich environment using audio and video materials. Each module focused on a specific topic.
The children enjoyed their time with the host families. The children particularly liked the lesson where they delved into the traditions, culture and heritage of their native land (excursions, reading books, watching films and visiting sacred places of the region).
The closing of the Host Family project was very funny, positive and interesting! The air was filled with a festive atmosphere! The children sang and danced with their host families, and participated in various game competitions. Everyone received a certificate and memorable gifts.
And, of course, the most important indicator of success was the children's successful mastery of the vocabulary minimum provided for in the project program.
We hope that the time spent with the host families will leave a lasting impression on each participant, filled with unforgettable experiences and happy memories.
