Making the most of summer

East Kazakhstan region has a proven 4-year positive experience of college-run simmer camps for schoolchildren as part of early career guidance. 

This year, 249 schoolchildren had a rest in summer camps on the basis of 7 colleges: Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College, Ridder College, Altai Higher College, Higher College of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Altai Technological College, Altai Agricultural College, Ust-Kamenogorsk Multidisciplinary Technological College. 

Schoolchildren were given the opportunity to explore the diverse world of professions. Fascinating master classes were held for them, where the children were engaged in assembling and programming robots, delved into mechatronics, learned the basics of laser cutting, making sliced sponge cakes, painting gingerbread, making stools, and even studied foreign languages with native speakers, etc. Also, taking into account age characteristics, the camp programs included entertainment activities like: trips to the cinema, leisure-time entertainments, sports competitions.

The organizers received positive feedback from schoolchildren for providing an active, intellectual and emotionally engaging summer vacation.
