Regional workshop “Modernization of school libraries as a condition for ensuring modern quality of education”

On April 18, 2024, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a regional workshop entitled “Modernization of school libraries as a condition for ensuring modern quality of education” as part of the Reading School Project.

The workshop was attended by methodologists of district and city education departments responsible for library affairs, librarians of secondary schools (50 people).

The goal of the workshop is to provide methodological support for the effective implementation of educational tasks with information and library support for learners and teachers through the modernization of the school library.

The head of Education Department of Ridder town of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Lyubov N. Mikulskaya informed about the work of modernized school libraries in the town.

During the workshop, specialists from schools of Education Department of Ridder town of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region shared their work experience by conducting master classes, library workshops, club activities, project work on the topics:

Natalya P. Kuznetsova, school library manager and Zhansaya B. Berikbolova, a librarian of the school library of Secondary School No. 2 on “Modernization of a school library as a condition for ensuring modern quality of education”;

Olga T. Oblezova, school library manager of Secondary School No. 5 on “Time management in the school library. Implementation of the Reading School Project using digital tools and electronic resources. Automation of school libraries”;

Larisa Yu. Medvedeva, school library manager of Secondary School No. 10 on “Knigochi club’s activities”;

Larisa S. Shamonaeva, school library manager of School Lyceum No. 1 on “Family Reading Project”;

Kulzipa M. Kalmakpayeva, school library manager of Secondary School No.16 on “Mektep kitaphanasy zhumysyn zamanaui adis-tasilder tiimdiligi”;

Tolkyn S. Imanzhanova, school library manager of Secondary School No. 12 on “Literary research project on the story of Oralkhan Bokey “The Deer Man” as part of the Reading School Project;

Oksana F. Kazitskaya, school library manager of Kunayev Secondary School No. 3 on “Educational resources of school libraries to boost learners’ intellectual potential as part of the Reading School Project;

Following the workshop, the participants thanked the organizers, noted that the workshop was held at a high level and shared their insights on presentations.

School librarians are recommended to regularly post the work carried out as part of the Reading School Project on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
