Regional scientific and methodological roundtable “Inclusion and ASD: realities and opportunities”

On April 1, 2024, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted a scientific and methodological roundtable entitled “Inclusion and ASD: realities and opportunities”, dedicated to the World Autism Awareness Day and the 20th anniversary of the specialty “Defectology” at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.  

The event was attended by more than 100 teachers of educational organizations of the region. The head of Methodological Department of Special, Inclusive Education and Boarding Schools of Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region A. K. Kubentayeva addressed the issues of providing assistance to children with ASD within the framework of the Center and Regional Association of Special and Inclusive Education of East Kazakhstan region.

The methodological roundtable showcased the experiences in preparing teaching staff in the field of special pedagogy, new educational programs such as ergopedagogy, early support pedagogy, organization of educational routes for children with ASD, and the inclusion process of children with ASD in a general education environment. 

The event was followed by a feedback session, resulting in making decisions and recommendations based on the results of the roundtable.
