Regional methodological online seminar “Efficiency of various active teaching methods, approaches and strategies while teaching history”

On March 6, 2024, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, as part of implementing the annual plan, held a regional online seminar entitled “Efficiency of various active teaching methods, approaches and strategies while teaching history”, for leaders of district subject associations, teachers of history of secondary schools of the region.

The goal of the seminar was to provide methodological assistance, exchange effective methods and techniques to develop students’ critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, expression of their thoughts, opinions, arguments, and research in order to enhance students’ functional literacy.

The event was attended by teachers of history of educational organizations of the region and specialized educational organizations, totaling 100 teachers.

During the seminar, the following experts shared their experiences:

- Medet N. Faizrakhmanov, a teacher-researcher of M. Shayakhmetov Secondary School No.23 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, “Tarikh sabaktarynda zertteu komponentin iske asyru”;

- Denis A. Nikitin, a teacher-researcher, Master of Humanities, Zubovka Secondary School of Education Department of Altai district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, “Museum pedagogy and its educational opportunities in developing general cultural competence”;

- Farkhat M. Nurtazin, a teacher-researcher of Seitkamza Lastayev Secondary School of Education Department of Katon-Karagai district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, “Socrative platformasynda zhumys zhasau ereksheligi”;

- Mansur E. Argimbayev, a teacher-moderator of Secondary School No. 10 of Education Department of Ridder town of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, “Using gaming methods through the “Self” concept in history lessons”;

- Madi K. Meirbayev, a teacher–master of Saryterek Secondary School of Education Department of Zaisan district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, “Tarikh sabagynda kartany koldanudyn tiymdiligi”.

During the reflection session, the participants noted the practical significance of the shared experiences in applying efficient methods and techniques to improve students’ functional literacy.
