Regional workshop “Methods of conducting a demonstration exam”

On January 17, 2024, Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College hosted a regional workshop entitled “Methods of conducting a demonstration exam” held in accordance with the annual plan of Vocational Education Center of East Kazakhstan region. It was attended by deputy directors responsible for educational and industrial activities from colleges that provide technical and technological education. 

The goal of the workshop was to study the methodology of creating tasks, the procedure and methods of conducting demonstration exams.

A demonstration exam is a form of interim and/or final assessment that allows students to demonstrate their acquired professional competencies in practical settings such as educational and production workshops, laboratories and training centers of organizations and/or on production sites of enterprises.

During the workshop, educators participated in master classes held at the Competence Center, at a roundtable they exchanged best practices in conducting demonstration exams as a trend in modern education, as well as the methodology of creating and assessing tasks for such exams.

Demonstration exams are currently conducted in 13 out of 15 colleges of the region that provide training in technical and technological areas. By 2025, it is planned to involved students of all 15 colleges in demonstration exams.
