Results of the regional seminar “Efficiency of preparation, organization and conducting of SEAM: development of natural science literacy”, as part of the winter holiday school - 2024

On 4-5 January, 2024, as part of the winter holiday school plan, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online seminar on the topic “Efficiency of preparation, organization and conducting of SEAM: development of natural science literacy” for teachers of chemistry and biology from schools participating in the Schoolchildren’s Educational Achievements Monitoring (hereinafter - SEAM) in 2024.  

The seminar addressed the issues related to preparing schoolchildren for the 2024 SEAM. The speakers elaborated on the structure of conducting SEAM in natural science literacy by examining the tasks of basic, medium and advanced levels of complexity. 

During the seminar, the following speakers made presentations:  

- Aizhan K. Kaupbayeva, a teacher of chemistry, a teacher-researcher of Secondary School No. 42 with boarding school of Education Department of Semey city of Education Administration of Abai region;

- Gulbakyt T. Temiralova, a teacher of biology, a teacher-researcher of Sh. Ualikhanov Lyceum School No. 3 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

- Saule T. Nurkanova, a teacher-researcher, headmaster of School Gymnasium No.10 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

- Darya I. Kolmagorova, a teacher of biology, a teacher-expert of School Gymnasium No.10 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

- Sofia M. Khusnutdinova, a teacher of chemistry, a teacher-expert of School Gymnasium No. 10 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.

The participants of the seminar noted the relevance and practical significance of the topic. They received methodological recommendations for further use in their practice.

The seminar was attended by 156 teachers of chemistry and biology of secondary schools of the region those who are involved in the Schoolchildren’s Educational Achievements Monitoring in 2024.
