Results of the regional round of the Republican School Olympiad in General Education Subjects among 9th-11th graders

On 3-6 January, 2024, the regional round of the Republican School Olympiad in General Education Subjects among 9th-11th graders (hereinafter referred to as the Olympiad) took place simultaneously across the entire Republic.

The goals and objectives of the Olympiad include developing creative abilities, deepening theoretical knowledge and practical skills, promoting personal self-realization, creating conditions for identifying gifted children, as well as selecting and preparing schoolchildren to participate in the Republican and International Olympiads.

More than 400 schoolchildren from the region took part in the regional round - the winners of the district (city) rounds, as well as members of the Regional Olympic Reserve.

The Olympiad took place at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, and Zhambyl Regional Specialized Boarding School for Gifted Children.

The theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the participants were evaluated by a qualified jury, consisting of scientists, professors and doctors of sciences from leading universities of the region, as well as teachers from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School.

According to the results of 2 rounds of the Olympiad, 197 participants became winners: 46 ones were awarded first-degree diplomas, 61 ones received second-degree diplomas, 90 schoolchildren – third-degree diplomas.

At the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad, the head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, Inessa A. Chernysheva congratulated all the participants and wished them to continue reaching new height of Olympus.  

During the festive closing of the Olympiad, the participating teams received the team awards.

The cup in the nomination “Best Olympic Team” and First-Degree Diploma went to:

1) The team of Bilim-Innovation Regional Specialized Lyceum for Gifted Children of Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

2) The team of Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

3) The team of Altai town.

The cup in the nomination “Best Olympic Team” and Second-Degree Diploma went to:

1) The team of Regional Boarding School for Gifted Children;

2) The team of Zaisan district;

3) The team of Kurchum district.

The cup in the nomination “Best Olympic Team” and Third-Degree Diploma went to:

1) The team of Zhambyl Regional Specialized Boarding School for Gifted Children;

2) The team of Katon-Karagai district.
