Winter is an amazing time. We allow ourselves everything we didn’t permit throughout the whole year: we buy sweets, go shopping for gifts, and dress up for the holidays. And it is during this really amazing time that we face the accompanying dangers of winter.
One of these dangers is ice. Very often, the reason for slipping on the ice is not the slippery surface itself, but rather haste and inattentiveness. The greatest danger comes from snow-dusted ice, ice pavement, steps at entrances and underground passages.
Another danger of winter is thin ice. Incredibly alluring and attractive. The ice from November to December (as well as in April-May) is fragile. Thin ice annually causes people’s deaths. As a rule, children and fishermen are most often among the victims.
However, tragedy can be avoided by observing the safety rules. This was the focus of the webinar held by Orken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with the senior officer of Civil Defense Administration of Emergency Situation Department of East Kazakhstan region, Lieutenant Colonel Almas A. Baizhuminov. It took place on November 16, 2023, to address the basics of safe behavior in the winter period in a simple and accessible manner to the schoolchildren.
