Lesson Study: advantages and disadvantages

The lesson is considered the fundamental form of pedagogical approaches and is a part of the pedagogical process. Each lesson is a stage in the formation of knowledge, skills, and positive qualities of students. However, each lesson should be characterized by integrity, completeness, and the ability to address specific educational objectives. The structure of a lesson refers to the relationship and sequence of its stages, contributing to the achievement of set objectives. Certain structures have evolved for each type of lesson.

The webinar conducted by Orken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region and led by the trainer of Ust-Kamenogorsk branch of Teaching Excellence Centre Gulzhan T. Zeinoldina was structured around the lesson study as a cycle, comprising several steps.  

Teachers delved into how learners assimilate knowledge to enhance the quality of education, and tackled the issue of how to develop teaching methods and approaches.

The lesson study allows you to understand how learners comprehend the subject matter – how they comment on specific ideas and conclusions, forming either an understanding or misconceptions.
