From November, 6 to December 15, 2023, an international study “PISA-based Test for Schools (PISA for schools)” is being held in 44 education organizations of East Kazakhstan region.
More than 1,145 15-year-old students of the region will participate in PISA for Schools, providing valuable data about their educational process and achievements. The study is based on the methodology of the traditional PISA study and assesses key functional literacy skills such as reading, mathematics and science, forming a comprehensive picture of the school's educational achievements.
In contrast to the main PISA, which is conducted every 3 years, PISA for Schools is held annually and provides individual reports with an analysis of results at the level of each participating school, identifying specific areas for improvement. Detailed reports enable school administrations to develop strategies and programs to enhance the quality of education.
It’s important to note that PISA for Schools is conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). According to the results of PISA for Schools in 2022, 44 education organizations received 28 individual and 16 group reports.
The study is currently conducted in 14 countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Spain, and China. The study is aimed at assessing knowledge and skills, as well as at identifying factors that affect students’ academic performance compared to other participating schools in the country and the world.
