Information workshop “Prevention of teenage vaping and e-cigarette use” as part of the Social Project “Youth without Vapes”

On October 16, 2023, Orken Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an information workshop “Prevention of teenage vaping and e-cigarette use” on the basis of Schoolchildren’s Creativity Palace, as part of the Social Project “Youth without Vapes”.

The goal of the workshop is to provide methodological support to educators in preventive work against the use of vapes and electronic cigarettes by adolescents.

During the event, the following experts shared their work experience:

Kuat Kh. Rakhimberdin – a coordinator of the Social Project “Youth without Vapes” in East Kazakhstan region, Doctor of Legal Sciences, a member of the Public Council on the Activities of the Internal Affairs Agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic “Issues of Preventing Vaping and e-cigarette use by Adolescents”;

Aksana Kalenova – the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child in East Kazakhstan region discussed the topic “Child rights and health”;

Aigerim A. Batyrkhanova – a coordinator of the project “Promotion of a healthy lifestyle in East Kazakhstan region” presented the topic “Harmful effects of vaping (e-cigarettes) on human health”.

The event was attended by 50 educators (deputy headmasters responsible for educational work, classroom teachers, social educators, senior camp counselors) in the offline format.

During the feedback session, the participants received comprehensive answers to their questions, acknowledge the importance of the event, and expressed their gratitude to the organizers.
