Webinars on methodological support of e-learning organized by Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and Talap

A series of webinars organized by the autonomous educational institution Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools jointly with Talap Center for Applied Research were dedicated to the most urgent issues on the methodological support of distance learning.

Teachers of chemistry, biology, and physics participated in a workshop webinar to undertake practical works on scientific subjects in the context of distance learning, prepared by the Center for Educational Programs. The features of the new format are analyzed - the use of virtual laboratories, online simulations, video experiments, students conducting independent experiments at home, as well as interpreting experimental data through task performing. At the master classes, special attention was paid to designing practical work, including data processing, determining variables, filling out worksheets based on the results of the experiment, and preparing the results for processing research reports.

A webinar on the organization of summative assessment in distance learning, prepared by the staff of the Center for Pedagogical Measurements was of great interest. Teachers expanded their knowledge of organizing assessment procedures, including working with normative documents, scheduling, setting goals and choosing technical means for summative assessment. Practical recommendations and specific examples on the development of tasks, assessment criteria, descriptors, scoring schemes, as well as their implementation through technical means on the example of Microsoft Teams, Forms, Edmodo platforms are presented.

All webinars were held in an interactive format, in total over 15,000 teachers of secondary schools connected to them, a large package of teaching materials was also prepared for them (presentations, assignments, recommendations on laboratory and practical work, links to virtual laboratories, simulations, videos).
