Briefing of the Head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, on the topic “Preparation of Educational Organizations of East Kazakhstan region to the New Academic Year”
The Information and Communication Center hosted the briefing of the head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Innesa Chernysheva concerning the preparation of educational organizations of East Kazakhstan region to the new academic year.
At the press conference, Innesa Chernysheva addressed the current educational issues.
98,107,000 leaners in 343 educational organizations will start the new academic year. Over 22,000 children from socially vulnerable families are covered with social measures. KZT895 million was allocated from the local budget funds to buy clothes, footwear and school supplies for 14,540 children.
In 99 settlements, 4,208 children will be provided with daily transportation on 128 buses, and 11 buses have been purchased this year, - said the head of the regional Education Administration Inessa Chernysheva.
Educational facilities are also being prepared for the heating season. According to the Education Administration, 81 schools out of 343 are heated with solid fuel. 30,000 tons of coal were purchased for them, and 24,000 tons have been delivered. The delivery will be completed by August, 31.
Special attention is paid to the safety of children in schools. Inessa Chernysheva noted that all educational organizations are equipped with video surveillance systems.
There is just over a week left until the start of the new school year. While children were on vocation, repairs were underway in schools. Thus, according to the head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Innesa Chernysheva, KZT 2.1 billion was allocated for repairs of 77 educational facilities in the region. – KZT 0.7 billion was allocated for major repairs in 7 facilities, and KZT 1.4 billion for current repairs of 70 facilities, - Innesa Chernysheva said during the press conference in the East Kazakhstan Regional Information and Communication Center. - Major repairs in 3 schools (Karatogai Secondary School of Kurchum district, Zhambyl Secondary School of Katon-Karagai district, A.Baitursynov Secondary School of Tarbagatai district) will be completed before the start of the school year.
Current repairs of the heating system are underway in 39 educational organizations. The work will be completed before the start of the heating season.
Moreover, it is planned to build 11 schools for 4,200 seats in the region this year, including 7 schools worth KZT24.1 billion under the National project “Comfortable School”. 3 schools for 1,500 seats will be built in Ust-Kamenogorsk city, a school for 600 seats - in Ridder town, a school for 300 seats - in Shemonaikha town, and 2 schools for 600 seats in Opytnoe Pole settlement and Belousovka settlement of Glubokoe district. They will be put into operation next year.
Furthermore, the construction of a 600–seat school in Nurlyzhol microdistrict of Ust-Kamenogorsk city (commissioning in December, 2023) and a 300-seat school in Zaisan town (commissioning in September, 2024) is continuing continues due to the expense of the Education Infrastructure Support Fund. The total cost of construction amounts to KZT 4.9 billion.
- The local budget funds are being used for the construction of 2 schools with a total cost of KZT2.5 billion. One of them is a 100-seat school in Shengeldy settlement of Tarbagatai district (commissioning in October, 2023), and the second one is a 200-seat school in Novaya Bukhtarma settlement (commissioning in July, 2024), - added the Head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.
