National holiday - Dombra Day

Every year, on the first Sunday of July, Kazakhstan marks a national holiday – the Dombra Day. On the eve of this holiday, an interactive program “Kumbirlegen dombyra” was held for children attending the Kunshuakty Zhaz Day Care. The children were thoroughly introduced to the history of the most popular instrument. The younger generation actively participated in the program: they answered questions, drew various versions of dombra, and even learned to make it out of paper. Throughout the event, the best musical compositions performed by famous dombra players of Kazakhstan sounded in Schoolchildren’s Creativity Palace of Ust-Kamenogorsk city.
