Regional webinar to improve psychologists’ professional competencies

Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, on a systematic basis, takes measures to improve the professional skills of psychologists of educational institutions of the region, sharing advanced pedagogical experience, as well as finding ways to solve current problems in the educational process.

By the way, there are 357 psychologists at 342 schools of the region. Social and psychological services are working as well, consisting of deputy headmaster for educational work, social teachers, class teachers.  

On May 24, 2023, the leading psychologist of the region L.P. Kuzemko held a master class on the prevention of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents for school and college psychologists. As part of the webinar, the participants received effective tools to strengthen the role of a teacher-psychologist in educational institutions, to improve advisory skills, and gained knowledge on strengthening parents' skills to support children. As a result of the activities, educational psychologists consolidated their existing skills, acquired new knowledge and practical skills to identify risk factors, signs of suicidal behavior. In all, 200 psychologists participated in the event.

 The event was held in a dialogue format, psychologists were not just passive listeners, but active participants. Following the event, Liliya Petrovna answered the participants’ questions, got feedback and words of gratitude for the meaningful webinar.
